Homeless World Cup event, 16 September 2015

Ashoka, Jazi Foundation and Pymwymic together invite you for an energetic and inspiring afternoon, on Wednesday 16th September 2015, to discover an innovative social business: the Homeless World Cup Supporters Club. Meet the founder, the homeless players, and join us to watch a Homeless World Cup game!

HWC

The Homeless World Cup uses football to target homeless and marginalised people throughout the world and get them off the streets. The organisation is now in 74 countries and currently works with over 100,000 homeless per year. Throughout the year, homeless people work hard to get selected to represent their country. It becomes a goal which changes their lives. Each year, research indicates that 80% of those involved change their lives completely as a result of being involved.

This year, Amsterdam will host the global Homeless World Cup, on Museumplein, in mid-September. Building on this opportunity, our three organisations invite you to meet HWC founder, Mel Young, and some of the global players. And to consider how the newly formed Homeless World Cup Supporters Club (HWCSC) – part charity and part business – can support this remarkable organisation with an equity investment instead of the usual donation.

HWCSC has already secured €300,000 in equity and is looking to raise the remaining balance of €200,000. A management buy-back is anticipated within the next 3-5 years at 1.5x your investment. This innovative revenue model, accelerated by your social investment, allows the charitable activities within the Homeless World Cup to be long-term financially self-sustaining.

Then let’s watch football! We’ll adjourn at 16:30 to watch a great match, in the lead up to the Homeless World Cup final. Read more here: www.homelessworldcup.org
